The processes and actions through which kief humans avoid depleting our natural resources so future generations (and us) can still enjoy a braai

The founding pillars of Shisa

Being sustainable is all about meeting our current needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Sustainability is also one of the founding pillars of Shisa Eco-briquettes.

Our sustainability journey started when we realised just how un-environmentally friendly our beloved charcoal braai was and how much carbon dioxide was released into the atmosphere each time a fire was lit. It was then that we decided that it was up to us to protect our precious Earth and its resources for the sake of our children’s children.

"One man’s trash
is another man’s treasure"

Shisa Eco-briquettes takes the phrase, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” quite literally. By using a by-product of the macadamia processing industry, we are using a renewable energy source to create a truly sustainable biomass product. Our product does not cause deforestation, reduces waste from another industry, and has no chemicals that will harm the environment.

We created Shisa Eco-briquettes so you can choose a product that works like a bomb while being environmentally friendly. But most importantly, we created it so future generations (and this one) can preserve our planet’s natural resources while still enjoying a lekker kuier around the braai.
